As the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to grow in Turkey, it is becoming increasingly more common for employers to collect employee and visitor data at workplace entrances for the purposes of health monitoring and screening for COVID-19 symptoms. Control measures such as screening for COVID-19 symptoms may be considered the processing of personal data or personal health data and employers should therefore consider their obligations under the Turkish Data Protection Law (“TDPL”) while carrying out such measures.
