Over the last 35 years our team has handled all types of infrastructure investments including, energy, transportation, water, waste management, communication as well as social infrastructure such as healthcare facilities.
The legal environment in Türkiye, which has multiple legal frameworks governing infrastructure investments, our experience with every model has been an invaluable asset in all infrastructure projects regardless of the model they are based on. Public-private partnerships (“PPP”) bring together private parties and governmental entities and are based on a distinct set of legal rules, each model with its own unique requirements. The licensing regime, which governs the energy and communication infrastructure sectors, requires extensive knowledge of the regulatory sectoral rules whereas mega-projects such as nuclear power plants require an understanding of the intra-governmental contracts. Our experience in all types of infrastructure projects in Turkey and our involvement over more than three decades not only provides us with the skills required to understand each legal framework, but also allows qualifies us as one of the pioneers in Turkey who contributed to the development of this legal framework.
Drawing on our multi-disciplinary practice, we successfully guide clients through all phases of infrastructure projects including the tender/licensing phase, contract phase, financing, construction, operation, and dispute resolution phases.
Our team has unique insight into and understanding of the expectations and priorities of all parties involved in infrastructure projects because for the last three and a half decades we have represented a wide range of parties involved in projects including financers, governmental bodies, as well as sponsors. This high level of experience has proved instrumental in bringing legal solutions that satisfy the priorities of all parties involved in an infrastructure project while also completing the project milestones in the most time efficient manner.
