Registration to Verbis Has Started

As mentioned in our previous client alerts, the Regulation on the Registry of Data Controllers (the “Registry Regulation”) was published in the Official Gazette on 30 December 2017 and entered into force on 1 January 2018 pursuant to the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (the “Data Protection Law”).

The Registry Regulation requires data controllers to be registered with the official Registry of Data Controllers (the “Registry”). The registration obligation will be fulfilled when the information required by the Registry Regulation has been uploaded to the registry information system of data controllers (“VERBİS”)
