The U.S.’s withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action

On 14 July 2015, the P5 + 1 countries (the United States of America, Russia, China, France, England and Germany) and Iran concluded an agreement named the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (“JCPOA”) as a solution to the problem of Iran’s nuclear program.


Following the submission of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s report to the UN Security Council confirming that Iran had complied with the provisions of the JCPOA, most of the sanctions applied to Iran since 2006 were revoked, and a ten-year schedule was stipulated for the revocation of the rest of the sanctions.
