Turkish citizenship can be acquired by exceptional ways by foreigners who invest capital, acquire real estate, or create employment opportunities in Turkey. A regulation published in in the Official Gazette on 19 September 2018 has relaxed some of the standards being applied.
The regulation has lowered the minimum threshold for real estate acquisitions required to obtain Turkish citizenship from USD 1,000,000 to USD 250,000. As for acquiring Turkish citizenship by creating employment opportunities, the minimum number of employees that need to be employed has been lowered from 100 to 50.
