The Bill to Amend Several Laws and Decrees Having the Force of Law, dated 30 November 2018 and numbered 37 (the “Bill”), which is currently under discussion in Parliament, contemplates revising the cap on increases in lease rates for residences and roofed workplaces.
The Bill to Amend Several Laws and Decrees Having the Force of Law, dated 30 November 2018 and numbered 37 (the “Bill”), which is currently under discussion in Parliament, contemplates revising the cap on increases in lease rates for residences and roofed workplaces. As it stands, Article 344 of the Turkish Code of Obligations numbered 6098 (“Code”) holds that lease rates for such real estate may not be increased by more than the producer price index. The Bill proposes to replace this limit with the consumer price index.
