Announcement Made by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office Concerning Internal Proceedings and Litigation Periods
As per Provisional Article 1 (“Provisional Article”) of Law No. 7226 Amending Certain Laws published in the Official Gazette dated 26 March 2020 and numbered 31080 (bis), as part of the measures taken to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, all statutory periods regarding the origination, exercise, and forfeiture of rights, including periods for filing lawsuits, initiating enforcement proceedings, making applications, complaints, appeals, issuing official letters, serving notices, making submissions, as well as statutes of limitations, periods for prescription, and compulsory administrative application periods have been suspended from 13 March 2020 until 30 April 2020 in order to prevent the loss of rights in the judiciary system.
